Number of Haunted Houses: There are over 4,000 haunted houses operating across America each Halloween according to hauntworld.com, Most haunted attractions are charity based, operated as a fund raiser.  Professional for profit attractions we estimate 600 to 800 attractions. Most theme parks are now operating a Halloween event.


Types of Attractions: Screamparks are outdoor and indoor haunts typically with a hayride.  Several of Haunted America attractions are considered a SCREAMPARK: Creepyworld, Headless Horseman, Spookywoods, and Haunted Acre Manor. Most haunts across America are indoor haunted attractions typically based in an old warehouse, or creepy building like Pennhurst which is located inside a REAL Asylum. Most haunts now have upcharges and add ons such as additional attractions, escape rooms, speed passes, or even immediate access tickets. A professional haunted attraction might have an average ticket price ranging between $35 to $40 after taxes and add ons.
